For now, that still holds true for a number of the Warrington Wolves starting lineup players.

The team has taken steps to sign some of its unattached players to contracts; among those who have committed their long-term futures to the team as they approach their last years are prop Joe Bullock and full-back Matt Dufty.

There are rumored to be discussions on new contracts for a number of other players; more players from Sam Burgess’ team are expected to sign in the upcoming weeks.

But there are now a handful players whose official futures are still unknown.

They include new signings Rodrick Tai, Max Wood, and Wesley Bruines for 2024, as well as club captain Stefan Ratchford and scrum-half Josh Drinkwater. However, the club has the ability to force one-year extensions for all three of them.

The same is true for young players Leon Hayes and Adam Holroyd, who have made consistent progress in the first team this season. However, Hayes sustained an ankle injury on Saturday against Salford Red Devils that appears to be long-term; an update on the full extent of his injury is still pending.
