Hawks GM Landry Fields Provides No Clarification On Trae Young’s Future With The Team
The Atlanta Hawks have spent the last few seasons spinning their basketball tires. Not bad, but not going anywhere.

Now, there are speculations that they may attempt to move star guard Trae Young, the franchise’s face and the man who led them to the Eastern Conference finals three seasons ago.For the record, Young stated after the season that he wanted to stay in Atlanta, but added, “I want to win” in Atlanta. The Hawks haven’t been winning lately, and some of it can be attributed to the front office. Some of it is on Young and his teammates.

General manager Landry Fields did not provide much clarification on Young’s future. It is anticipated that the Hawks will try to deal Young while keeping fellow star Dejounte Murray, who has been the subject of numerous trade speculations this season. At the trade deadline, some speculated Murray was gone for good. It just goes to show that you can’t believe everything, or even most of what you read on the Internet and social media.

Okay, back to Young. The Hawks’ plans for his future with the team appear to be uncertain.

“Trae is the ultimate competitor, he really is,” Fields told Lauren Williams of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “I have no doubt that he wants to win. And you know what? It never comes down to just one individual. Because, as amazing as Trae is, he is an excellent basketball player of All-Star status. He knows, as do we, that it will take more than one.

“So we’ll look at this roster and keep expanding because we all want the same thing at the end of the day.” “We want to win.”

In other words, given the proper offer, almost everyone may be traded. Young and the Hawks may also be due for a break. In any case, Atlanta’s offseason promises to be interesting. Again, no one knows where it will lead.
