Now it appears that GM Howie Roseman is losing one of his major players in the front office.

Eagles news: GM Howie Roseman loses key member of staff

According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Jake Rosenberg will leave Philadelphia “when his contract expires after the NFL draft next month.” Rosenberg attributes his choice to a desire to advance his career, with McLane stating that the respected executive “hopes to stay in the NFL and work for a team in which he can pursue his goal of becoming a GM.”

This is a significant loss for Roseman and the Eagles as a whole. Rosenberg is Vice President of Football Administration and one of Roseman’s closest advisors. According to McLane, Rosenberg “played a vital role” in cap management and negotiations, as well as helping with player signings/acquisitions.

Bryce Huff keeps the same mindset that led him to a big contract with Eagles

While Roseman is well-deservedly regarded as one of the NFL’s greatest general managers, his success is due in large part to the team he has assembled around him, and it is evident that Rosenberg played a significant role in this organization.

Rosenberg now wants to pursue other options for a higher job elsewhere, and no one should blame him.

At the very least, Rosenberg will be on board through the NFL Draft. The buzz is Philly still has a few moves up its sleeve, which Rosenberg is surely playing a part in.

There’s also the Hasson Reddick trade saga, so Rosenberg can give the team a great parting gift by finding a resolution for the disgruntled pass-rusher.
