Rasmus Kristensen, a Leeds United loanee, may need some time off the field after sobbing as he exited the field over the weekend. Kristensen has spent the whole season on loan at Roma, where he has been instrumental in helping Daniele De Rossi’s team climb the standings and qualify for Europe the following year.

Nonetheless, it appears that he may be accepting the chance of missing a significant portion of the campaign following his thigh injury sustained during Saturday’s 4-1 victory over Monza. Right-back Kristensen began the match hurt after fouling Andrea Carboni in the 25th minute. To make matters worse, he was given a yellow card and had to leave the field.

The Leeds player required Renato Sanches to comfort him as he walked to the Roma dugout because he was clearly distraught. Corriere dello Sport reports that Kristensen will have a scan to determine the full extent of his left thigh problem and to determine a prognosis.

While the Dane is likely hoping for positive news, there is a possibility that Roma is afraid of being laid off. Despite being left out of the team for the Europa League, Kristensen has shown promise in the Italian capital over the past several months, and he is eager to contribute to De Rossi’s goal of getting Roma into the top four of Serie A.

This injury coincides with Diego Llorente, another Leeds loanee, who has not yet fully returned to play following a brain injury that required hospitalization last month. The defender needed hospital treatment after suffering a head blow during the team’s Europa League match against Feyenoord on February 22.

Since then, Llorente has missed a home match for Torino. Although he started the match against Monza as a substitute, De Rossi never felt the need to take a chance on the Spaniard by putting him in the middle of the action. He might, however, be involved this week when Roma plays Brighton and Hove Albion in the Europa League last 16.
