According to reports, Newcastle United plans to recruit a new midfield player in the summer.

In a recent report, Football Insider stated that the Magpies “have compiled an extensive scouting dossier” on Amadou Onana of Everton.

Newcastle United is keen to add at least one first-team player at the end of the current campaign in order to strengthen their alternatives in central midfield.

Due to injuries and bans, this season has been extremely difficult. Joelinton, who will miss the rest of the season, and Sandro Tonali, who faces a suspension for engaging in illicit betting, are two notable examples.

Since joining from Lille eighteen months ago, the Belgian midfielder—who already has nine caps for his country—has been a revelation for the Toffees.

And with the 22-year-old’s contract expiring in 2027 and high-profile interest starting to grow, Sean Dyche will undoubtedly be making preparations for the player’s unavoidable departure from Goodison Park.

Onana, who is estimated to be worth £50 million (TM), has personally contributed to six goals in 59 games across all competitions since coming to Merseyside.
