Uriah Heep and Judas Priest will perform at the Abbotsford Center.

As part of their Firepower tour, legendary English heavy metal group Judas Priest has scheduled a June 2019 performance in Abbotsford with special guests Uriah Heep.

The bands perform on Monday, June 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Abbotsford Centre.

One of the best-selling studio albums in Judas Priest’s history, Firepower debuted in the top five in 17 different countries. This includes their highest-ever position on the American charts, at No. 5.

Their thirty-two-city North American tour commences in Hollywood, Florida on May 3 and ends in Las Vegas on June 29.

Dawson Creek on June 13, Prince George on June 14, and Kelowna on June 16 are the other B.C. stops.

Few heavy metal bands have achieved the kind of success that Judas Priest has throughout the course of their nearly 50-year history.

British Steel, Screaming for Vengeance, Painkiller, and the hits Breaking the Law, Living After Midnight, and You’ve Got Another Thing Coming are among their all-time great albums.

Priest is still very much around, as seen by Firepower’s success on the charts and positive reviews, his win for Best Metal Performance at the Grammy Awards, his nomination for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and his honors from VH1 Rock Honors.

Since its founding in 1969, the group has sold over 50 million copies of their albums.

Priest is also recognized for being among the first metal bands to wear leather and studs, an outfit that would ultimately become popular among metal fans all over the world.

Having founded in 1969, English band Uriah Heep has been around for almost as long. They have published 25 studio albums, 18 live albums, and 39 compilation albums.

Easy Livin’, The Wizard, Sweet Lorraine, and Stealin’ are among their most well-known songs in North America, while Demons and Wizards is their most popular album.
