s Ohio State prepares to face Notre Dame in the CFP National Championship on Monday, January 20, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, fans are already buzzing about how the Buckeyes will celebrate if they clinch the crown.
One tradition is guaranteed: the iconic Victory Bell in the southeast tower of Ohio Stadium will ring out in celebration. A gift from the classes of 1943, 1944, and 1945, the bell, perched 150 feet above the ground, has been rung after every Buckeyes victory since 1954. On a calm day, its triumphant chimes can be heard up to five miles away.
Celebrations beyond the bell
While no official parade plans have been announced, fans can expect spontaneous gatherings reminiscent of last November’s celebration after a win against Indiana. Players and fans united to sing “Carmen Ohio” in the south end zone, and similar scenes could unfold near the Mercedes-Benz Stadium if the Buckeyes triumph.
Not attending the game? No problem! The OSU Student Association offers a themed watch party kit perfect for fans hosting at home. It includes Bowl Game-themed cupcake toppers, food labels, napkin wraps, banners, Buckeye crown crafts for kids, and even a coloring page to keep the little ones entertained
