Former Ohio State running back Chip Trayanum has signed with Toledo football, according to multiple reports.

The Akron, Ohio, native started his collegiate career with Arizona State (2020-21) before joining the Buckeyes.

He spent two seasons (2022-23) with Ohio State where he collected 465 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 103 carries.

Trayanum transferred to Kentucky for the 2024 campaign and gave the Wildcats 101 rushing yards.

He’s joining a Toledo team that went 7-5 this year.

A transfer running back is headed to Michigan

Michigan has landed a commitment from former Alabama running back Justice Haynes, according to multiple reports.

Prior to the commitment news, Brad Crawford of 247Sports reported UM’s NIL package exceeded what South Carolina offered.

Haynes ran for 448 yards and seven touchdowns on 79 attempts as a sophomore this season.

Yet when 2025 arrives, one of the best games on the schedule unintentionally features a longstanding tradition.

Ohio State will face Oregon in the Rose Bowl — a historic game typically featuring the Big Ten vs. the Pac 12.

As the programs prepare to meet for the second time this season, OSU coach Ryan Day met with reporters to preview the contest. Here’s what he said.

Day on the Rose Bowl: “Every time we go, it’s a great experience.”
Day on various bowl sites: “Certainly Pasadena and the Rose Bowl is right at the top of the list.”
Entering the Tennessee game, Day said he needed quarterback Will Howard to be the best leader on the field. “I thought he was,” Day said.
Day on receiver Jeremiah Smith’s most underrated trait: “Probably his size. When you get up on him, you realize how big he is.”
Day on offensive coordinator Chip Kelly: “He’s got an understanding now of who we are personnel wise… I feel like we had a good balance this past game.”
Day on balancing emotions vs. Oregon: “It’s about execution. It’s about our preparation…. That’s what it comes down to.”
Day said both teams have changed since Oregon beat Ohio State in October, but, “Our guys have played this team before, so there’s a reference point.”
Day on Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel: “Gabriel is very, very talented and accurate in what he does.”
Day said Ohio State’s foundation is still recruiting, developing and retaining high school prospects. “That’s the best plan for (sustaining success),” Day said.
Day on the offensive guard rotation: “It had to work… I thought they all played well.”
Day on momentum gained from beating Tennessee: “You could feel the confidence in the locker room… Knowing our opponent also gives us confidence.”
