Jade Cargill Reportedly Set To Join Raw Brand, Be At WWE Fastlane
WWE landed its second major ex-AEW star with the recent signing of Jade Cargill, and it won’t be long before she’s on the main roster.
According to PWInsider Elite (h/t WrestlingNews.co), the former AEW TBS Champion is expected to debut on Monday Night Raw very soon: “The early word from people in WWE is that the former TBS Champion will be on the Raw brand… The belief is that she will be on TV by the end of the month and possibly sooner.”
How soon? Perhaps as soon as this week at Fastlane. PWInsider Elite (h/t Fightful) adds that Cargill will be at Fastlane, though it isn’t confirmed if she will appear on-screen.
WWE announced last week that it had signed Cargill, previously one of the most prominent stars in AEW’s women’s division, to a multi-year contract. Cargill ultimately chose a jump to WWE over staying in AEW, with AEW President Tony Khan saying that he extended a huge contract offer to Cargill before she made the move.
Cargill, however, recently shed more light on her decision, telling The Ringer Wrestling podcast (h/t Haus of Wrestling), “I want to create a legacy. I want to be in the Hall of Fame. I want to wrestle with the best woman in the world. I mean, there’s no grander stage than this stage. The opportunities are endless for this company. It’s a no-brainer.”
While sending Cargill to NXT for some additional training was certainly an option, pushing Cargill on the main roster right out of the gate is, well, a no-brainer.
A powerhouse in-ring performer who looks like an action figure, Cargill has star written all over her, and she hinted on X—formerly Twitter—on Monday that Raw would soon be her home.
While there has been a push for Cargill to start in NXT first, here’s the thing: WWE needs to capitalize on the buzz surrounding Cargill’s signing, and that’s on the main roster—not NXT. Of course, one of the biggest criticisms surrounding Cargill is her lack of in-ring experience, but she demonstrated during her final AEW match—a stellar TBS title match against Kris Statlander—that her supposed in-ring mediocrity was more about a lack of opportunity than a lack of ability.
AEW, to its own demise, went out of its way to protect Cargill. She won over 50 straight matches and largely stayed away from AEW’s top in-ring performers as a means of having those stars—ranging from Britt Baker to Thunder Rosa to Toni Storm to Saraya—avoid having to “put her over.”
While that established Cargill as a dominant force in the women’s division, it ultimately kept her in the upper midcard and limited her growth as an in-ring performer. Now that she’s in WWE, Cargill has access to the world class Performance Center, a luxury that AEW simply didn’t have and a place that will help her hone her in-ring skills.
The terms NXT and Performance Center are often used interchangeably, but they’re not one and the same. By debuting on Raw, WWE can get the most out of Cargill, pushing her as a top attraction on Monday nights while allowing her to work with Raw’s top stars—and also in the WWE PC—to improve inside the squared circle.
Raw would also give her a platform to instantly feud with high-profile stars, like Becky Lynch, Rhea Ripley and Nia Jax.
WWE paid big money to bring in Cargill and is giving her the top star treatment, with video packages and a strong push across social media. That’s not something WWE does unless that star is going to be a major main event caliber star—on Raw or SmackDown.
While Cargill could benefit from several months of in-ring training at the Performance Center, that’s true of virtually anyone with very little wrestling experience. WWE knows, however, that it has a marketable star in Cargill, and that’s something that can’t be taught.
Cargill can always improve her wrestling skills, and that will come in due time. But the buzz and hype after she followed in the footsteps of Cody Rhodes and jumped ship to WWE?
That’s here now, and WWE must take advantage.

After making a huge name in All Elite Wrestling by becoming the
longest reigning TBS Champion, Cargill joined World Wrestling
Entertainment in 2023. She made her electrifying in-ring debut at the
Women’s Royal Rumble 2024 and has since won the Women’s Tag
Team Championship twice alongside Bianca Belair.
A fan recently took to X/Twitter to post an edited photo of Jade Cargill
and Paul Heyman with the WWE Women’s Championship. They also
asked the former TBS Champion what she thought about an alliance
with Heyman. Cargill immediately replied to the fan with a two-word
message, showcasing her emotions

wished him a happy birthday.

“So much talent headed from Smackdown to NXT. Like we said, we
are taking OUR tag team titles everywhere. I like the idea [Bianca
Belair]. Keeping an eye out [Shawn Michaels],” Jade Cargill wrote.

After the latest edition of NXT, Jade Cargill took to X/Twitter to highlight
that a lot of stars from SmackDown, including The Street Profits, were
making appearances on the developmental brand.
Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill recently received a massive threat from
unsigned real-life Bloodline members, who are heavily rumored to
make their debuts after they were seen at the WWE Performance
Center.
It will be interesting to see what the Triple H-led promotion has planned
for Belair and Cargill’s future as the Women’s Tag Team Champions
