Ghanaian attacker Galtin O’Donkor reacts after scoring debut goal for Bristol Rovers against Peterborough,,
English-born Ghanaian forward Galtin O’Donkor netted his debut goal for Bristol Rovers in their 3-2 away loss to Peterborough United in an English League One clash.
O’Donkor, who was introduced in the 60th minute, wasted no time making an impact, scoring his first-ever goal for Rovers just 16 minutes after coming on. His strike sparked hopes of a comeback, but Peterborough managed to hold on and secure the three points.
Peterborough had taken control of the game with goals from Kwame Poku and Ricky-Jade Jones in the first half, followed by a third from Malik Mothersille just after the hour mark. Bristol Rovers responded quickly, with Luke McCormick pulling one back before O’Donkor’s debut goal, scored just 45 seconds later. Despite their late surge, Rovers couldn’t complete the comeback.
O’Donkor, on loan from Oxford United, has now made four appearances for Bristol Rovers, with his first goal coming in this thrilling encounter.

Aston Villa left-back Lino Sousa has joined Bristol Rovers on a season-long loan.
The 19-year-old joined Villa in February and spent the second half of last season on loan at Plymouth Argyle.
He made eight appearances for the Pilgrims in the Championship, having begun his career in the Arsenal academy.
Sousa becomes the 14th summer signing for the Gas, and the fourth on loan.
“I feel like this is a really good platform to showcase myself and help the club achieve its aims for the season,” he told the club’s website, external.
“I’m just grateful to the manager and the coaching staff for giving me this opportunity.”
Rovers began their League One season by beating Northampton on Saturday before losing to Cardiff in the Carabao Cup first round on Tuesday.

Anthony joins Bristol Rovers on two-year deal
Bristol Rovers have signed winger Micah Anthony on a two-year deal following his release from Queens Park Rangers at the end of last season.
Anthony, who has been on trial with the League One side, has the option of a further year with the club on his deal.
The 20-year-old joined QPR’s academy at under-nine level and played for their under-18 and under-21 sides but had not made a first-team appearance.
“Since being with us on trial, Micah has shown us his talent and personality,” said , externalRovers manager Matt Taylor.
“He has a high ceiling in terms of his potential and we’re looking forward to seeing him develop with us in the coming months.”
Anthony is Rovers’ 13th signing this summer and joins ahead of their season opener at home to Northampton Town on Saturday.
