“An act of pure evil.” Joel Osteen makes a statement following the publication of the shooting’s bodycam footage.
Joel Osteen has made his initial remarks in the wake of the Lakewood Church shooting bodycam footage being made public by HPD.

In a Tuesday email, he referred to the “tragic event of February 11th” as a “pure act of evil” for churchgoers.
Osteen stated that he has been “in continual praise and thanksgiving to God for how He protected our church family” in the two weeks when Genesse Moreno entered Lakewood Church and started fire.

“Father God,” an officer can be seen praying over a 7-year-old kid who was hurt in the Lakewood Church shooting in this bodycam footage.
“Our church family becomes more self-assured and our faith only deepens with every passing Sunday.

The email continues, “May we draw strength from the unwavering foundation of our faith and rely on each other for support in the days ahead.” Let us hold on to the assurance found in Romans 8:28 that God “works all things together for the good of those who love Him,” believing that even in the midst of this terrible incident, He is accomplishing His perfect purpose.

During the gunfight with the police, Moreno was shot in the head and died. Her 7-year-old son was also hit. The child’s condition is still serious.
