Newcastle Knights NRLW Secure Rugby Sevens Star Tenika Willison for 2024 Season
In a major boost for the Newcastle Knights’ 2024 NRLW campaign, Head Coach Ben Jeffries has secured the signing of Tenika Willison, a distinguished New Zealand Rugby International and Tokyo Olympic Games Gold Medallist. Willison has signed a two-year deal with the Knights, adding a significant new talent to their squad.
Willison, 26, is set to join the Knights following the completion of her current international commitments with New Zealand. Her impressive resume includes a gold medal from the Rugby Sevens at the Tokyo Olympics and a recent debut with the New Zealand Black Ferns Fifteen against Australia in June 2023. Her extensive international experience and high-level performances make her a valuable addition to the Knights’ roster.

The addition of Willison comes at a crucial time for the Knights, following a season-ending knee injury sustained by Tamerah Leati during pre-season training. Leati will undergo surgery and begin her rehabilitation program, creating the opportunity for Willison to step into the squad.
