To MLS, Santiago Gimenez? In an attempt to capture the much sought-after Feyenoord striker, San Diego FC
Major League Soccer team San Diego FC is rumored to have made an attempt to recruit Feyenoord and Mexico sensation Gimenez in the summer, according to Voetbal International. However, in their transfer chase of the striker, the American team will have competition from teams like Spartak Moscow, Atletico Madrid, AC Milan, and Tottenham Hotspur.
With 23 goals in 30 games, Gimenez finished the 2023–24 season as the third-highest scorer in the league, riding a wave of success in the Netherlands. In addition, he made six assists. Nevertheless, the 23-year-old was unable to duplicate his success in international football. The Mexicans were eliminated from the group stage of the ongoing Copa America, despite the attacker failing to score a single goal.
The second-placed Eredivisie team has already signed Argentine striker Julian Carranza in case their star attacker leaves, although they have not received a formal bid for the player yet.
As part of its 2025 expansion, Wave FC, which was founded in 2023, is scheduled to enter the American league.
