The 32-year-old mother, who was expecting her third child, was discussing potential baby names just hours before she was fatally stabbed in her east London apartment; her former lover is facing murder charges.
Three days after finding out she was expecting her third child, Alana Odysseos, 32, was discovered dead at her Walthamstow home.
Shaine March, 45, her former lover, was charged with murder early this morning by police from Scotland Yard’s Specialist Crime Command. He is scheduled to appear in court at Barkingside Magistrates Court today.
Jasmine Yates, Alana’s sister, choked back tears as she described their family’s experience with the attack as “a living nightmare” to MailOnline.
“I didn’t want to believe it when I found out,” the woman remarked. I simply passed out. We can’t stop believing that when we wake up, she will return to live with us.

Shaine March, 45, her former partner, showed up in court today accused of killing her.
Jasmine Yates, Alana’s sister, on the left, stated that the mother of two had learned she was expecting just before she passed away.
Just a few hours before everything happened, we were chatting on WhatsApp and leaving comments on different postings.
“We were very near.” We were just regular sisters; we didn’t always agree, but we supported one another through good times and bad.
She was an incredibly intelligent mother. She was a devoted mother who transformed her life for her little daughters.
She’d recently discovered she was expecting again. She was ecstatic when she was approximately four weeks in.
Before she was killed, I spoke with her throughout the day, and she was giddy with chatter about baby names.
“She was the ideal sister one could have.” She was a dynamite. She was always there, willing to go to battle and solve any problems you might have had.
“She was just such a kind person who used everything that she had overcome to improve her life.”
To pay for a burial close to her grandmother Patricia in the family’s hometown of Suffolk, a fundraising website has been established.
Any money left over from the GoFundMe will be used by the family to create a trust fund for Alana’s two daughters.
‘Shaine March will appear in prison at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 23 July charged with the murder of 32-year-old Alana Odysseos,’ a Scotland Yard official said.
March was taken into custody after authorities were alerted to a woman’s injuries at a Lynmouth Road, E17 address on Monday, July 22, at approximately three o’clock in the morning.
After being discovered with stab wounds, Alana passed away right away. March knew Alana, and she knew March.
Homicide officers from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command started an inquiry. In the early hours of Tuesday, July 23, March was charged.
