Helloween have announced a new album.
The reunited German power-metallers will release ‘Giants & Monsters’ through Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM) on August 29, following up their 2021 self-titled record.

Produced by Charlie Bauerfeind and Dennis Ward, with mixing at the legendary Wisseloord Studios in Hilversum, the Netherlands, it’s previewed by the first single, This Is Tokyo, a four-minute high-energy rocker that serves up driving drums, razor‑sharp riffing and harmonised lead vocals. Head below to view the song’s accompanying video, which pays homage to Japan. Vocalist Andi Deris said:
“I’ve always wanted to write this song. Japan plays a special role in my life because I had my first big successes there. I wanted to create a tribute to Japan for a while now and finally found the right lyrics. Because ‘Tokyo’ sounds better than ‘Japan,’ the city stands for a whole country that is very important to me.”
Commenting on the recording process, guitarist Michael Weikath added: “What keeps motivating us is the fact that we’re extremely different. It generates creative energy.”
Guitarist-vocalist Kai Hansen commented: “We try not to take ourselves and everything around us too seriously.”
“In the end, we’re just seven guys who want to make music and enjoy the incomparable force that arises when we’re together. Helloween is way more powerful than the sum of its parts,” concluded Deris.
The seven-piece will take their 40 Years Anniversary Tour across Europe in the autumn, which includes a London show at the Eventim Apollo on October 20. Support on the trek will come from very special guests Beast In Black. Tickets are on sale now.
