It was a quiet January for the Reds amid a focus on keeping Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad together. However, the summer is likely to be much busier in terms of ins and outs.
Forest have been credited with an interest in a number of potential targets as they begin to put plans in place. Below, NottinghamshireLive takes a look at the players linked with the Reds.
Malick Thiaw: A summer move appears to be on the cards for the defender as AC Milan view him as a player capable of bringing in funds. Valued at £21-25 million, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are also tracking him.
Federico Gatti: The Juventus defender has been on Forest’s radar before, with suggestions they have had two bids rejected in the past. The club are said to be keeping tabs on him once again ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
Joao Palhinha: The Bayern Munich midfielder is reportedly keen on a return to the Premier League after something of a tough first season in Germany, following his switch from Fulham 12 months ago. The Reds are said to be one of the teams “to watch” in the race for his signature.
Andrey Santos: The fact the young midfielder barely played for Forest during a short loan stint Trentside last season has not stopped him being linked with a return to the City Ground. Currently on loan at Strasbourg, he will return to parent club Chelsea in the summer but could be on the move again soon after. Eight English sides are said to be keen on him.
Hugo Bueno: The Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back is on loan at Feyenoord. The Reds are said to have been “hugely impressed” by some of his recent performances and are “considering” making a bid in the summer. Leeds United are also said to be keen.
Igor Paixao: The winger has been in fine form for Feyenoord this term. Bournemouth, Newcastle and Tottenham are also circling amid talk of a £25m price tag. Speaking about his future recently, the Brazilian said: “I have a contract with Feyenoord until 2029. God and Feyenoord decide what happens.”
Davide Frattesi: Reports have suggested Forest will “try to buy” the Inter Milan midfielder in the summer, if they qualify for the Champions League. The Italian giants are said to have placed a £33m price tag on the player’s head, with Spurs and Roma also keen.
Bright Osayi-Samuel: According to reports from Turkey, the Fenerbahce full-back has signed a pre-contract agreement with Forest as they made him “the most serious offer”. Fenerbahce are said to have held three rounds of talks in a bid to get him to extend his stay. Crystal Palace are also said to be eyeing him up.
Luis Henrique: The Reds are said to be among several Premier League sides to have watched the Marseille attacker in action, with reports suggesting they have been in talks about signing him. Newcastle and Everton seemingly have their eye on him, too. A versatile forward, the Brazilian can operate as a winger on either flank or as a No.10.
Alexis Saelemaekers: Forest were first linked with the AC Milan winger last summer but he ended up going out on loan to Roma. His future beyond the end of the season is up in the air, with Newcastle said to have joined the Reds in taking an interest while Roma could look to keep hold of him. He is valued in the region of £16.5m.
Bryan Cristante: A “request for information” about the Roma midfielder is said to have been made by Forest. Reports have suggested any negotiations could look at the possibility of a swap deal involving Nicolas Dominguez heading in the opposite direction. Cristante is also said to have admirers in the MLS and Saudi Arabia.
Tammy Abraham: Up front is an area the Reds will certainly look to strengthen in the summer, and the Roma forward is reportedly being monitored by the club. Should the ex-Chelsea man move on, though, it is likely he will not be short of options. West Ham United, Newcastle, Fulham, Everton and Leeds have also been linked.
Yuri Alberto: Talk of a £19m bid from Forest for the Corinthians striker emerged in January. Nothing materialised then, but the Reds are reportedly among a number of sides to have been in touch with the forward’s agent since. They could face competition from the Hammers, Wolves, Bournemouth, Fulham and Inter Milan despite a reported £82m release clause in Alberto’s contract.
Raul Asencio: Reports from Spain have suggested Forest have put forward a “concrete and ambitious offer” for the Real Madrid defender. It has been claimed Forest are “willing to pay” £33m to sign him as they view the 22-year-old as one for the future. However, last month it was claimed the Spanish giants had not made a “definitive decision” on the youngster’s future.
Jean-Philippe Mateta: No sooner had the winter window closed, Forest were being linked with the Crystal Palace striker. Amid suggestions of his future at Selhurst Park being in doubt due to a contract stand-off, speculation about the player’s future emerged. Manchester United, Chelsea, Newcastle, West Ham, Bournemouth and Aston Villa have also been credited with an interest.
Vangelis Pavlidis: The front man has been racking up the goals in Portugal for Benfica and has apparently caught the Reds’ eye. He is said to have a whopping £80m release clause, with his club apparently in no mood to sell.
Clayton: On loan at Rio Ave from Vasco da Gama, the 6ft striker could add to the Brazilian contingent already in place at the City Ground. Fellow Evangelos Marinakis-owned side Olympiacos are also said to be keen. Rio Ave, who are also part of the Marinakis umbrella of teams, are said to have a €3m (£2.6m) option to buy but could consider making a quick sale if they take that up.
Jobe Bellingham: A price tag in the region of £20m has been mooted for the Sunderland midfielder, who is the younger brother of Real Madrid star Jude. Forest, Manchester United, Brentford, Brighton and Hove Albion, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund are among the teams keeping tabs on him.
Gabriel Pec: The versatile LA Galaxy attacker, who is valued at £16-20m, can operate as a winger or a striker. Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Arsenal and Liverpool have been linked, along with the Reds.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin: Ahead of the Everton forward coming to the end of his contract, Forest are said to have “made enquiries” about snapping him up as a free agent.
Josh Sargent: Another striker reportedly on the club’s list. Leeds and Everton also count as admirers, with the Norwich City man said to be worth £13-17m.
Evanilson: The Reds are said to be keeping tabs on the Bournemouth attacker, as are Newcastle and Villa. But with the Cherries having splashed out a reported £40m to sign him from Porto last summer, he would not come cheap.
Mohamed Amoura: On loan at Wolfsburg from Belgian side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, the Algerian front man is said to be on Forest’s “shortlist” of potential targets. Liverpool and Arsenal have also apparently asked about his availability. However, Wolfsburg have an £11m option to buy, which could put a spanner in the works.
Darwin Nunez: Recent reports claimed the Reds had submitted a “formal offer” in the region of £50m for the Liverpool forward. They are said to be “leading the race” for his signature, ahead of Newcastle and Atletico Madrid.
Lorenzo Lucca: Forest and Atletico were both reported to have put forward an offer for the Udinese striker, while AC Milan and Napoli have also been linked. He is said to have a £21m price tag on his head.
Victor Osimhen: Described as having the potential to be an “ambitious” signing by Reds owner Marinakis, the Nigerian has a fair few suitors. On loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, he reportedly has a €75m (£64m) release clause – applicable only to clubs outside of Italy – in his contract.
Matheus Cunha: Forest were linked with the Wolverhampton Wanderers ace in January, but the understanding at the time was that it was a transfer unlikely to happen. The Brazilian has since penned a new contract at Molineux, but that hasn’t prevented the Reds being credited with an interest again. He is said to have a £62.5m release clause in his contract.
Ademola Lookman:The Reds are said to have “taken a shine” to the versatile forward, having kept tabs on him for some time. Atalanta are apparently ready to cash in on him and would want in the region of £50-58m for the 2024 African Player of the Year. Manchester United, Newcastle, Juventus, PSG and Inter Milan are also among his admirers.
Evan Ndicka: Valued at £25m, the defender’s future is said to be uncertain. If Roma qualify for any European competition, a move for the Ivory Coast international could reportedly “become difficult”. If the club do not qualify for Europe, it is said a departure “looks likely”. Arsenal and Real Madrid have also been linked.
Fikayo Tomori: There is said to be a “concrete possibility” AC Milan will let the defender go this summer. It has been claimed he can “pack his bags” if an offer of £21m comes in. Newcastle, Tottenham and West Ham are also said to be keen.
Baris Alper Yilmaz: Reports last month suggested Galatasaray had turned down a £17m offer from the Reds for the winger. Turkish media have suggested Forest will “not give up” on the player.
Yunus Musah: Forest are one of several teams said to have shown interest in the AC Milan midfielder. Villa, the Magpies and the Hammers have also been linked with the USA international. He is valued in the region of £25m.
Semih Kilicsoy: The young Besiktas striker was linked with a switch to the City Ground in January but ended up staying put in Turkey. However, the Reds are said to have revived their interest in the 19-year-old ahead of the summer. Valued at £17m, he also has Fulham and Everton among his list of admirers.
Ardon Jashari: Forest reportedly watched the Club Brugge midfielder in action earlier this year. A summer move is said to be “almost inevitable”, with the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Spurs, Newcastle, Brentford and Brighton also reported to have sent scouts to run the rule over him.
