Done Deal; Philadelphia Eagles have sealed a multi-million dollar as the sign most wanted Defensive tight player from Brahmas
We’ve got another UFL to NFL signing out of San Antonio’s camp. Brahmas DT Jacob Sykes is signing with the Philadelphia Eagles, sources confirm to Pro Football Newsroom, as first reported by Mike Mitchell.
Jacob Sykes has spent the last two seasons with the Brahmas, originally signing as an offseason addition ahead of the 2024 campaign.
Sykes was a rotational piece to begin the year – but eventually worked his way into a starting role. He started three games in 2024, totaling 11 tackles, a sack, and five defensive stops on the year.
This past UFL season, Jacob was a key force up front for San Antonio’s defensive unit. Sykes started eight of 10 games played – with 19 tackles, two sacks, and six defensive stops to his name.
Now, Sykes has earned an opportunity with the Philadelphia Eagles, following a successful workout with the team on Monday. Jacob was one of three DT’s brought in for tryouts, and has turned his UFL campaign into an NFL contract with the Eagles. Philadelphia has looked to spring football for DT talent in the past – signing Pittsburgh Maulers DT Olive Sagapolu a couple of years back.
Sykes is no stranger to the NFL, having spent some time with the Seahawks back in 2023. The former UCLA product had six tackles with Seattle during that preseason run.
Jacob Sykes is the second Brahmas player to sign an NFL contract – and the 15th UFL player to do so. Without the national platform that the UFL provided him with, who knows if this would’ve been possible.
