Barbora Krejcikova finally breaks silence as photos of her been pregnant hits the internet, Here is her responds
Former French Open winner gives agonising update about her condition as she also responds to pregnancy rumours
There appears to be no end in sight to Barbora Krejcikova’s injury nightmare with the former French Open winner confirming that she is still not allowed to practice following her back injury.
The 2021 Roland Garros champion has played only eight matches so far in 2024 with her last encounter coming in the quarter-final of the Abu Dhabi Open at the beginning of February.
She was forced to withdraw from the Qatar Open and was also unable to defend her title at the Dubai Tennis Championship as she revealed “my back injury requires further healing time”.
The Czech also missed the recent Sunshine Double – the Indian Wells Open and Miami Open – and going by her latest message, her return date remains unclear as she only recently started to venture outside again.
“Some more news about my condition. Today has been the first full day outside of my bed,” she wrote on an Instagram Story. “I’m still not allowed to practice nor do anything higher intensity so I’m starting with some easy walks in our nature.
“I will keep you updated about my progress in next [few] days.”
Krejcikova started the year at No 10 in the WTA Rankings, but she has slipped to No 25 due to her inactivity.
Despite her injury woes, Krejcikova also saw the funny side of an April Fool’s Day joke on Monday as she replied to a post on X that she is pregnant.
“Breaking: Barbora Krejcikova is pregnant! I wanted to share the good news that me and Pavel are welcoming a baby into our family this year! I hope to see you on the court very soon and I am thankful for your support ,” a tennis enthusiast wrote.
The X user even went as far as “Wishing all the best to this family of 4!”
But the former world No 2 took it her stride as she replied “Sorry to disappoint but I am still on baby number one.” in reference to her dog and accompanied it with a video of “baby number one”.
The seven-time Grand Slam women’s doubles champion is next scheduled to play at the Stuttgart Tennis Grand Prix, but it is highly unlikely that she will still be on the entry list when the WTA 500 event gets underway on April 15 while there are also doubts over her participation at the WTA 1000 Madrid Open
