GOOD NEWS: Netflix Set to Release Documentary on Las Vegas Raiders…
Netflix has announced an upcoming docuseries titled “Receiver,” set to premiere in the summer of 2024. This eight-episode series will provide an in-depth look into the lives of five prominent NFL pass catchers during the 2023 season, including Las Vegas Raiders’ star wide receiver, Davante Adams.
Produced in collaboration with NFL Films, Omaha Productions, and 2PM Productions—the same team behind the successful “Quarterback” series—”Receiver” aims to offer fans unprecedented access to the personal and professional experiences of these athletes. Alongside Adams, the series will feature Justin Jefferson (Minnesota Vikings), Amon-Ra St. Brown (Detroit Lions), and both Deebo Samuel and George Kittle from the San Francisco 49ers
Each 45-minute episode will delve into the unique journeys of these players, highlighting their on-field performances and off-field lives. For instance, viewers will get a glimpse into Adams’ personal life, including moments like the dinosaur-themed birthday party he and his wife, Devanne, hosted for their four-year-old daughter, Daija. Adams remarked on the balance between his professional and personal roles, stating, “That’s the fun part about being a dad. I can go be a superhero out there on the field, and then I can come home and be a superhero and put on a big party for my baby.”
The series will also cover significant events from the 2023 season. Adams had a standout performance in Week 3 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, recording 13 catches for 172 yards and two touchdowns, though the Raiders narrowly lost that game 23-18. Additionally, the series will touch upon challenges such as injuries and team dynamics, providing a comprehensive view of the players’ experiences throughout the season.
“Receiver” is anticipated to be a compelling follow-up to “Quarterback,” offering fans a closer look at the dedication, challenges, and triumphs of some of the NFL’s top pass catchers. As Peyton Manning of Omaha Productions noted, “We are excited to be working again with Netflix and NFL Films to give fans unprecedented access to what it’s like to play receiver at the highest level.” (
Fans can look forward to streaming “Receiver” on Netflix in the summer of 2024.
