Ohio State Parade: What are the celebration plans after winning the CFP National Championship 2025?As Ohio State defeated Notre Dame in the CFP National Championship on Monday, January 10, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, fans are already buzzing about how the Buckeyes will celebrate if they clinch the crown.
One tradition is guaranteed: the iconic Victory Bell in the southeast tower of Ohio Stadium will ring out in celebration. A gift from the classes of 1943, 1944, and 1945, the bell, perched 150 feet above the ground, has been rung after every Buckeyes victory since 1954. On a calm day, its triumphant chimes can be heard up to five miles away.
Ohio State has not held a parade for its last two national championships.
In 2014 after Ohio State’s victory over the Oregon Ducks crowned them as the first college football champions of the CFP era, the university’s athletics department organized a public event two weeks after the big win.
The hour-long event took place on a Saturday at Ohio Stadium and was free to attend. During the celebration, coaches, student-athletes, and staff were recognized for securing the program’s eighth national championship. The “Best Damn Band in the Land” performed, and university leaders, including then-President Michael V. Drake and former Athletics Director Gene Smith, delivered speeches. The ceremony concluded with a trophy presentation.
A similar event was also held at Ohio Stadium following the 2002 national championship.
