WBRZ has reported Colin Hurley, freshman quarterback for LSU, was found near the university’s south gates unresponsive in a car wreck around 2:45 am Thursday.
According to sources, Hurley’s Dodge Charger was found to have crashed into a tree at South Quad Drive and Highland Road.
Officials report that Hurley was unresponsive but still breathing at the scene.
The local fire department removed Hurley from his vehicle, where he continued to slip in and out of consciousness.
Hurley also sustained injuries, as reports say he has a “large” cut on his face.
The cause of the crash has not yet been released, although officials do not suspect impairment

Koy Moore, who was with LSU from 2020-21, is joining the Rebels and first-year head coach Dan Mullen.
After his two years with the Tigers, Moore spent two years with Auburn before transferring to Western Kentucky. Now, Moore heads to his fourth school in what will be his sixth year of college football.
Moore’s best year came with Auburn in 2022. He caught 20 passes for 314 yards and a score.
With LSU, he caught 22 passes for 177 yards as a true freshman in 2020. As a sophomore, he caught five passes for 71 yards. Last year at WKU, Moore totaled just two catches for 27 yards.
Moore will join a UNLV team that competed for a playoff spot in 2024, which earned former head coach Barry Odom the same job at Purdue. After Odom’s exit. UNLV tabbed former Mississippi State and Florida head coach Dan Mullen to lead the charge.
Moore is one of a handful of former Tigers to join UNLV this offseason.
