The possibility of Sha’Carri Richardson being romantically involved with fellow Team USA sprinter Christian Coleman has occupied the fans’ minds for a long time. With both track stars fiddling with the community’s emotions via teasing social media posts, it’s been a seriously speculative week for their fans. And now, the Olympic gold medalist is back at it!
Since Sha’Carri is one of the most celebrated track and field athletes in the country, fans can’t get enough of her. While she did miss out on winning gold at the women’s 100m final at the Paris Olympics earlier this year, her popularity hasn’t dwindled a bit. Instead, Richardson’s cryptic updates about her love life have the fans wanting to have a definite answer on the matter. On her Instagram story from December 14, Richardson once again shared an image of her colleague. Captioned “Da One,” the post comes with an emoji that may be interpreted as Coleman being the shade where Sha’Carri can sit down and catch a break from all the hustle and bustle around. Draped in a comfy-looking mauvish-brown tracksuit, the 3 World Championships gold medalist looked polished, and Sha’Carri naturally couldn’t help but share the vibe on social media.
However, despite their online celebrations of each other, neither Sha’Carri Richardson nor Christian Coleman have confirmed their relationship status. Instead, they’ve kept the fans guessing with their lovey-dovey social media posts. Last weekend, the duo was spotted at a USATF event in Orlando, Florida, sharing affectionate moments. They were even seen holding hands while posing for the camera, making the fans go “aww.” But again, a definitive answer about their relationship didn’t come.

However, this is by no means the first time the Team USA stars made the fans scratch their heads. Instead, their constant admiration of each other has led many to already conclude that Richardson and Coleman are more than just national colleagues who represent the Stars and Stripes on international stages. It all started at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest. In the year before that, Richardson broke up with her then-partner, Janeek Brown, a Jamaican sprinter. Last year at the top-tier track event, Christian and Sha’Carri were seen celebrating the latter’s gold medal win with vehement gusto, turning a lot of heads with their enthusiastic emotional display. Fans were quick to assume something was brewing behind closed doors. However, a confirmation didn’t come. But the hints kept flowing.
At the 2024 Millrose Games, Richardson showed up at the stands despite not competing in the event. Moreover, her loud cheering for Coleman didn’t escape the fans’ notice. On top of that, the two suddenly took to social media to hail each other for their incredible achievements, calling each other “legend” and “icon“.
