Collingwood are closing in on the signing of St Kilda forward Tim Membrey as a delisted free agent.
The 30-year-old, who is without a contract at the Saints for 2025, will be available for the Magpies to pick up once he is cut by St Kilda.
It’s understood that pending the result of a medical, Membrey will join Collingwood’s list of key forwards, which looked lean during the 2024 season.
He will be used with Brody Mihocek and Daniel McStay, essentially replacing delisted tall utility Nathan Krueger, who exited alongside Jack Bytel and Josh Eyre on Thursday.
After joining the Saints in 2015 following his delisting by Sydney, Membrey played 178 games for the club, kicking 293 goals.
He has been St Kilda’s leading goalkicker on three occasions and has kicked 30-plus goals in a season on seven occasions.
Membrey struggled through the early part of 2024, even being dropped to the VFL in mid-season, before kicking 14 goals in the last six games of the campaign.
The forward will being leadership qualities to the Magpies, having been apart of St Kilda’s leadership group from 2019-2023.
