All Road Blocked as 3-vehicle crash in multiple injuries, road closure_Police Report
A traffic crash involving three vehicles on Sunday afternoon resulted in multiple injuries and the closure of an intersection in Sarasota.
The crash occurred on Fruitville Road and Vic Edwards Road at 3:50 p.m.
Multiple people were transported with injuries, including one with serious injuries.
The westbound and eastbound lanes of Fruitville Road will be shut down at Vic Edwards Road.
Officials asked drivers to take alternate routes to avoid the area.
Authorities said an update will be provided when the roadway is reopened.
North Port Police looking for man who allegedly struck an officer with his vehicle
North Port Police are looking for a man who allegedly struck an officer with his vehicle. North Port PD said Debahj Grant struck the officer Monday evening near Price Boulevard near Purdue Street.
Grant was stopped by police for a traffic stop when he put his car in reverse and pinned the officer between the door jam. Grant then drove away from the area, and officers found the empty vehicle a short time later, according to police.
The officer is reportedly okay.
Grant is described as 6 feet tall, 155 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. According to police, he was wearing glasses at the time of the incident.
NPPD said that a heavy police presence is at Nepoleon Road and Amnesty.

Sarasota Police have announced several road closures due to flooding in the area and high tide is expected to make more problems as the day goes on.

Main St and Gulfstream Ave
Fruitville Rd and U.S. 41
1st St and Pineapple Ave
Pineapple Ave and Palm Ave
Gulfstream Ave and Pineapple Ave
Siesta Bridge at Siesta Dr
