Again Scunthorpe United Manager and Key Player departs club due to……

Scunthorpe United can confirm Kit Manager Nathan Stanton has departed the club, opting to move onto pastures new.

Formerly a defender for the club, Nathan returned to the club as Kit Manager in June 2015 following the departure of Matt Spencer.

He made 243 league appearances for Scunthorpe, and scored his only goal for the club in the Division Three play-off semi-final against Lincoln in 2003.

A former youth trainee, he played for our first team between 1998 and 2006 before a four-year spell with Rochdale, three years with Burton Albion and then stays with non-league sides Grantham Town and Corby Town.

Stanton had remained involved with our centre of excellence and community set-ups in recent years prior to his return as Kit Manager. His nine years in the role at the Attis Arena showed him bring his experience in the game, aiding the preparation of our players and coaching staff.

Nathan moves onto a similar role within the academy of Nottingham Forest, his boyhood club, and where he is currently based.

Scunthorpe United would like to place on record their thanks for Nathan’s commitments, both as a player, a coach and as a Kit Manager over the long service he has given to the club, and wish him all the best for his future career. It goes without saying, Nathan is welcome back to visit us any time.
