Nottingham Forest striker arrested for alleged sexual assault that left two women ‘needing hospital treatment’

    WHAT HAPPENED?

    The 27-year-old is currently on the books of La Liga outfit Valencia after completing a loan move from Sevilla in the summer transfer window. He did not attend training alongside the rest of his team-mates on Tuesday.

According to Cadena SER, that is because Civil Guard officers have taken Mir into custody. Sources close to the Spanish media outlet claim that the former Spain U23 international has been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of sexual assault made by two women.

The women in question are reported to have been subjected to the assaults at Mir’s home – with another male suspect being arrested as part of the case. The two female victims filed a complaint to local authorities and required hospital treatment.

WHAT NEXT?

Mir – who spent three years on the books at Molineux between 2018 and 2021, which included a loan spell at Forest in 2019-20 – is said to have been taken to the Valencia Civil Guard headquarters, where he is awaiting a transfer that will see him make an official statement in front of a judge.
