Amanda Holden has been supported over a sad loss as she issues a family announcement. Amanda, the ITV Britain’s Got Talent judge, has announced a new arrival to her brood alongside husband Chris Hughes and their two children, Lexi and Hollie.
Amanda typed: “We have a new addition to our fur family #honeybunny … we will be slowly bonding her with Peter having sadly lost our other. Rabbits are social animals and love/need company x” In reply, a fan said: “Hoping she came from a rescue not a breeder… there are currently over 100,000 rabbits in rescues across the UK.”
A second commented: “Thank you so much for advocating good bunny care! We need more celebrities endorsing this.” Another commented: “So adorable! Mine was called Winston, he would never leave my side and was my shadow.”
And another said: “Such a shame that an ambassador for @battersea would get a rabbit from a breeder rather than an animal rescue” And another commented: “She’s gorgeous we adopted a house rabbit 2 mths ago I adore her can’t imagine life without her x”
And a fellow fan typed: “@bugzyandbeige I can spot your B&B Bunny from a mile off! Always making sure the best bunnies find the happiest furever homes” Another commented: “Great she will be in a pair. Hope the other one is neutered. Introduce in neutral grounds (where the rabbit never ventured)”
And another said: “So refreshing to see a celeb promoting rabbit welfare, studies have shown companionship is as important as food to rabbits.” And another commented: “Absolutely love that you’re promoting proper rabbit welfare in the importance of bonding them! The number of lone bunnies still being kept is so so sad. Welcome honey bun!”
“…I once rescued a wild rabbit from the side of the road whilst I was on delivery (I’m a postman!) @noholdenback…It was freezing cold and pouring with rain and there was a woman coming down the road with her dog, so I scooped her up and put her under someone’s bush til I had finished work. I went back and she was still there, freezing cold and soaking wet! I put her in my bag and cycled home with her before going back to the office. My mum got her dry and warm and she shot off around the room, our cats looked gone our at this spectacle of speed! We quietened her down and popped her in a cage promising to release her back in the wild. Years later she was still with us. She loved everything from dandelion to celery cobs and, funnily enough, sponge cake. Eventually she passed away. She was called Rapunzel but ended up being shortened to Rap! Have a lovely weekend bonding with your new addition!” another said.
