UConn women’s basketball star Paige Bueckers receives blast on return to campus. Here’s Why….

UConn women’s basketball star Paige Bueckers received a blast from the past gift when she returned to campus this week.

Bueckers was given a gift made to resemble a ‘first day’ arts and crafts project from when she was five years old.

The UConn women’s basketball team shared a photo of Bueckers with the gift on its Instagram account, with the caption “Paige knew who she was from a very early age.” It included a current photo of Bueckers with a drawing of Bueckers in the same pose.

UConn also shared the post on X and Bueckers responded: “Last first day of school ever.”

According to SI.com, Bueckers is ranked as the No. 2 woman, behind LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne, on the On3’s NIL 100 List.

She is entering her senior year with the Huskies and is projected as the No. 1 selection in the 2025 WNBA Draft.

And as she settles into their dorm room at UConn, Bueckers and her teammates are going through the same process as so many college students around the country — assembling furniture.

Fudd included the caption, “CAUTION … Women hard at work.”
