Wolves have now agreed a deal with St Mirren to sign teen sensation Ethan Sutherland, sources have told Football Insider.
The versatile 18-year-old is heading down to England for a medical on Wednesday to complete a permanent move to the Midlands giants.
Sutherland has agreed personal terms with Wolves, and there is now a full agreement over the transfer.
Numerous clubs had been monitoring the wide midfielder, but Gary O’Neil’s side have managed to lure him to Molineux Stadium.
The 18-year-old is in the final year of his contract at the SMiSA Stadium, and St Mirren have opted to cash in on the highly-rated teenager.
Wolves will be gaining a versatile player in Ethan Sutherland
Even though Sutherland does bring attacking qualities as a wide midfielder, he has also played as a right or left full-back throughout his career.
This versatility will give O’Neil plenty of options for using Sutherland as his career develops at the Premer League side.
Sutherland had made a cameo appearance from the bench in St Mirren’s recent defeat against Celtic, but he hadn’t nailed down a regular starting position for the club.
Sutherland isn’t the only young star playing in Scotland that Wolves are keeping their eye on.
