Regarding Bruce Springsteen’s upcoming tour, Stevie Van Zandt said, “I don’t see the end anywhere in sight.”
After recently electrifying arenas around Europe, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band will shortly be performing in the United States. However, guitarist Stevie Van Zandt claims that their live approach is far smaller, despite the fact that they perform for thousands of fans every time they take the stage.
“We are from the nightclubs and bars. I believe a crucial element was the fact that we were a dance band, he says to The Telegraph. The goal was to make individuals feel hot and uncomfortable so they would want to drink more. And that takes a little additional effort, okay? There is a difference between playing a concert where everyone is seated and getting them to get up from their chairs and start dancing.
“We just treat it like a club and ignore the venue’s size,” he continues.
There are confirmed dates for Springsteen and the band through 2025. However, with Bruce approaching 75 in September, there’s always the question of whether this tour will be his final one. Furthermore, it appears that Van Zandt is unsure of the solution.
“You never know,” Van Zandt asserts. We have been treating every event as though it were our last for the past fifty years.
However, the audience remains, and it appears that they are growing younger each year. To be honest, I don’t see the end coming very soon,” he continues. “I’m so glad The Stones are still performing. Because, dude, we’re still the new kids on the block as long as they’re around. I’m fine with that, then.
The second leg of Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band’s tour will begin in the United States on August 15. BruceSpringsteen.net has the full schedule of events.
