Following the Olympic opening ceremony, Lady Gaga announced her engagement to Michael Polansky.

According to one story, Lady Gaga has been engaged to tech investor Michael Polansky for several months.

The pop artist is rumored to have introduced Polansky as her fiancé to French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal while she was in Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics, where she performed on Friday during the opening ceremony.

The Times’ attempts for response on Monday were not immediately answered by the singer’s representatives for “Born This Way.”

According to a People story published on Monday, the pair decided to tell only their close friends and family members about their engagement “several months” ago. Before Gaga’s 38th birthday celebration in March, Polansky, the chief executive of the Parker Group, which manages the commercial and philanthropic endeavors of Napster founder and Facebook investor Sean Parker, is rumored to have proposed.

To avoid being caught wearing her engagement ring, the Oscar and Grammy winner apparently decided not to wear it right away. That, however, was short-lived as she soon ignited speculations of an engagement when she was photographed in April wearing the sparkler.

“They work well together. He’s enthusiastic and up for her career. While he lets her shine, he can’t bear being the center of attention. She supports him in his pursuit of his own business interests, an insider told People on Monday.

When the French PM uploaded a TikTok video of the singer and her fiancé at the Olympic Games on Sunday, the speculations of an engagement were sparked once again. It shows Gaga calling Polansky “my fiancé” as they attend a swimming competition at the Paris Aquatic Center.

“We are grateful to Lady Gaga for her incredible performance during the opening ceremony. More than 70,000 people have liked the video, which Attal captioned, saying, “It was breathtaking.”

After being caught kissing at a New Year’s Eve celebration in Las Vegas in December 2019, Gaga—real name Stefani Germanotta—and Polansky were first connected. After Super Bowl LIV in Miami a few weeks later, they made their PDA-filled romance public.

Actor Taylor Kinney of “Chicago Fire” and Gaga were previously engaged, but their five-year romance ended in 2016.

Apart from her engagement, Gaga gained notoriety this past weekend for her rendition of “Mon Truc en Plumes,” a tribute to French ballerina and vocalist Zizi Jeanmaire, that she performed alongside the Seine River.

The “A Star Is Born” actor was speculated to be performing before the Olympics opened ceremony, even though her name was not on a program that was sent to the media ahead of time, according to the Associated Press. Because of the bad weather in the French city, AP also broke the story that she had prerecorded her performance, which was aired during the live show.

Olympic and Paralympic opening ceremony choreographer Maud le Pladec told Variety that her unexpected appearance during the ceremony was the only act that “for safety reasons, we had to pre-record late in the afternoon.” After we were certain that it would rain, we received minute-by-minute updates. We had never before paid such close attention to the weather prediction.

Even with a few drops of rain, we determined that the performers would be in too much danger. We would rather pre-record it than cancel it because [Gaga] wants to do it completely, according to Le Pladec. It would have been slick terrain. There were steps, she was close to the ocean, and she was wearing heels. We needed to use extraordinary caution.

During the energetic, cabaret-inspired performance, Gaga danced, going up and down a flight of stairs by the river, and sang in French, accompanied by a group of eight dancers wearing custom Dior costumes and brandishing pink-feather fans. She also played the piano for a short while.

“I am incredibly appreciative that I was asked to open the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.” She posted on Instagram following the performance, saying, “I am also humbled to have been asked by the organizing committee of the Olympics to sing such a special French song—a song to honor the French people and their tremendous history of art, music, and theater.”

“Even though I’m not a French artist, I’ve always felt a very special connection with French people and singing French music. I wanted nothing more than to create a performance that would celebrate French art and music, warm the heart of France, and on such a momentous occasion remind everyone of one of the most magical cities on earth—Paris.” She continued, enumerating all the ways she incorporated elements of French culture into her performance of “putting a modern twist on a French classic.”

I spent countless hours practicing a happy French dance and brushing up on some old moves. You might be surprised to hear that when I was just starting out, I used to dance at a French party on the Lower East Side in the 1960s! “I hope this performance brings you as much joy as it does,” the star of “Joker: Folie à Deux” wrote.

And to everyone in France, I want to express my gratitude for allowing me to come and sing in your honor. It was a gift I will never forget! To every athlete participating in the Olympics this year, congratulations! I am so honored to be able to sing for you and support you! Every time I watch the Olympic Games, I cry! You have unbelievable talent. The games can now start!
