According to records, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones will testify on the witness stand in a trial related to a paternity issue.
Jones is scheduled to testify in the countersuit against a woman who is claiming to be his daughter, according to a list of witnesses.
Next Monday is the commencement of the breach of contract trial against a woman claiming to be Jerry Jones’ daughter. The owner of the Cowboys is anticipated to speak on the witness stand.
According to court documents, Jones is scheduled to testify. The order indicates that Jones will be questioned by the defense team representing the plaintiff, Alexandra Davis, over the alleged breach of contract.
After her defamation action against Davis was rejected in March, Jones launched a countersuit against him, claiming he was her father. Jones, who maintains his denial of fatherhood, says she broke a 1998 agreement with Davis’ mother by talking openly about the likelihood that she is his father
Witnesses on the list include Davis and her mother, Cynthia Davis-Spencer. There are other members of Jerry Jones’ family who could provide testimony. According to court documents, his ex-son-in-law Shy Anderson, his wife Eugenia Jones, son Stephen Jones, daughter Charlotte Jones, and son may all be asked to testify.
According to the lawsuit, Jones sent Davis 230 individual payments over the course of her youth, totaling around $1.9 million. Apart from that, the lawsuit alleges that Jones also paid for Davis’s whole college tuition, numerous trips, a “Sweet 16” birthday party, and a Range Rover that cost more than $70,000.
The lawsuit also claims that a month prior to Davis’s twenty-first birthday, she met with an attorney representing Jones and asked him to give her more money than he was supposed to under the terms of the purported agreement. According to reports, Jones refused to comply with that requirement, and later that year, Jones learned Davis had sent information about the deal to an outside party.
“These actions, disclosure, and statements constitute material breaches of Mrs. Spencer’s confidentiality obligations under the Settlement Agreement,” the complaint alleges.
According to the lawsuit, the parties’ agreement was further broken in March 2022 when Davis brought her first lawsuit against Jones, declared in the open that Jones was her father, and gave multiple media interviews revealing details of their purported agreement.
As part of the latest filing, Jones is requesting a declaration from the court that Spencer must continue to abide by the terms of their initial agreement. He also asks that all his attorneys’ fees be paid for, as well as the costs of the suit and any other relief he may be entitled to.
