According to reports, the Detroit Tigers are considering accepting an offer from the Baltimore Orioles for All-Star Tarik Skubal.

Baltimore Orioles reportedly willing to make offer Detroit Tigers can't refuse for All-Star Tarik Skubal

Although it’s unknown if the Detroit Tigers will contemplate dealing ace Tarik Skubal, a recent report indicates the Baltimore Orioles might be prepared to give an irresistible offer to their rival team.

The Orioles are a few games away from having the best record in baseball going into today’s MLB games, but they do have a slight lead in the American League East. Even while Baltimore is among the league’s most well-rounded teams, they are not perfect.

Before the July 30 MLB trade deadline, the team will try to improve in a few areas. However, improving the starting crew is the top objective. Additionally, the organization has been connected to a number of players recently, including Garrett Crochet of the Chicago White Sox.

Blue-chip minor-league prospects allow the Orioles to execute any transaction they desire. The team hasn’t agreed to include their top minor league players in a big-name trade, though. With their massive offseason acquisition of Brewers ace Corbin Burnes, they added none at all. However, that can soon alter.

Will Tigers trade Skubal at deadline?

Baltimore is reportedly “interested in putting together packages loaded with top prospects” for Detroit ace and 2024 All-Star Tarik Skubal, according to Sports Illustrated MLB insider Tom Verducci earlier this week. According to MLB.com, three of the Orioles’ prospects are among the top 15 in the league.

Although this is a significant development for the O’s, several league insiders have recently reported that Detroit is not interested in dealing the 27-year-old star. Verducci was given an explanation by an AL talent evaluator as to why the Tigers ought to give it careful thought.

The talent assessor stated, “They’re not contending this year and probably not next year.” Thus, you have a year left on your Skubal window. A year, perhaps? You can see what he can do today, where he had an impact on three postseasons, for that reason. This [deadline] is when the price drops.
