Sammo Hung chastises online users for their remarks over Jackie Chan’s new appearance.
19 March – Sammo Hung recently shared his opinions at the Hong Kong Directors’ Guild annual dinner, and he is not amused at all by remarks made by internet users about him and Jackie Chan aging like regular people.
The media recently questioned the seasoned action star about remarks made by online users over a widely shared image of his close friend Jackie, who is starting to show signs of gray hair.
“Someone mentioned that Sammo Hung is getting older. And they say, “Oh, Jackie Chan is old now,” these days. Does anyone ever stay young? Everybody will age. “Why must one speak harshly as long as Jackie is well and happy as he ages?” he said.
Pictures of Jackie with his graying hair became popular on the internet.
“I think the person who is saying this will never grow old because he will have no chance to do so,” Sammo continued, appearing to be touched by the remarks.
The actor added that people in today’s world lack etiquette and will say anything to further their own financial interests.
“As long as someone is watching, anything can be said,” he stated.
