Neil deGrasse Tyson’s Rant to Joe Rogan & Terrence Howard’s Conversation Debunked by Eric Weinstein – “I Don’t Think Neil Actually….

Actor Terrence Howard has some now well-known, unique theories about mathematics and physics. Proponent of the maxim that one multiplied by one equals two, Howard’s theories have largely been ignored or ridiculed by the scientific community. His theories exploded in popularity after his spell-binding solo appearance on Joe Rogan‘s podcast in May 2024.

On the episode, Howard had claimed that scientist and ‘Cosmos’ presenter Neil deGrasse Tyson had ignored him after he had sent him a treatise on his theories. This prompted the ‘Star Talk’ host to make a video giving his point of view and critically examining Howard’s treatise. And fans were up in arms demanding Rogan bring on a scientist with Howard to address his novel theories. Which is exactly what the part-time UFC commentator did.

Weinstein thinks Neil deGrasse Tyson may not have properly understood Howard’s theories….

Joe Rogan enlisted the help of mathematical physics Ph.D Eric Weinstein on episode #2171 of the JRE podcast to address Terrance Howard’s outlandish theories about mathematics and physics on his podcast. However, before they could get into the meat of the theories, Howard expressed objections about Tyson’s response to his last Rogan appearance.

Howard protested that the scientist’s response was “not fair” and claimed his interaction with the scientist had been misrepresented. This criticism of Tyson rubbed Weinstein the wrong way, and he jumped in to express his discomfort at his fellow academic being spoken of this way. “I don’t want to do it this way. This is a colleague of mine,” Weinstein interjected.

Before he began addressing the ‘Empire’ actor’s theories, Weinstein did remark that Tyson perhaps didn’t fully understand the novel metaphysics and assumptions that the actor was operating under to come up with his theories.

“And so plunging right into that [Howard’s theories] ]from the beginning, in my opinion is not served very well by having the three of us here. Because the first thing is, what is the nature of Terrance’s ideas? I don’t think Neil [DeGrasse Tyson] actually understood some of your ideas to be entirely honest,” he said.

Joe Rogan defends Tyson
However, Rogan jumped to the world-famous scientist’s defense, pointing out that “he did make this one very large response… He did go over the treatise.” But, given the undoubtedly swamped schedule of Tyson, Rogan felt that the scientist may have too much on his plate already. Tyson is indeed currently gearing up for his ‘Neil deGrasse Tyson Tour’ which will begin in October this year and continue well into 2025.

“[But] he only has so much time, you know. He [Weinstein] might be in a position to defend him then. He [Tyson] might be in a position where he’s like look I just said what I said about all this stuff, good luck. I don’t have the time to like sit here and discuss these things in depth,” Rogan told Howard.
