“We succeeded!” Ryan Lomberg sends a unique message to Panthers supporters.

Lomberg played for the Panthers for the previous four seasons before signing with Calgary last week.

Bill Zito, general manager of the Florida Panthers, called it.

When Ryan Lomberg was first signed by the Panthers to a two-year contract in October 2020, Zito was the one who prophesied that Lomberg would become a South Florida fan favorite.

Lomberg’s boundless energy, inclination toward physical contact, and contagious smile made it easy for Panthers supporters to fall in love with the Lomberghini.

In the end, Lomberg spent four seasons on the Florida team.

During his time with the Panthers, he performed a wide range of tasks, from more conventional duties like defending teammates to unexpected duties like scoring the game-winning goal in overtime during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

After Lomberg’s excellent tenure with the Panthers, the team was unable to pay him to stay.

Rather, Lomberg re-signed for $4 million over two years with the Calgary Flames, more than doubling his prior pay.

Following a growing trend in South Florida, Lomberg is the most recent player that supporters are sorry to see go, but they also understand how the game’s business is conducted.

Lomberg shared a unique message to “Panthers Territory” on Tuesday.

We Win! We Are The Champions!

What a run that was.

I moved to Florida four years ago with the intention of playing NHL hockey full-time, and now I’m going as a Stanley Cup champion.

We appreciate the support of the whole South Florida community and the Florida Panthers organization. I will always be appreciative of my time spent in South Florida and very appreciative of all the contacts I was able to make that will last a lifetime.

Territory of the Panthers WE Achieved It!
