For a Top-10 linebacker, the Florida Gators and FSU are neck and neck.
The competition for a 4-star Georgia linebacker pits the Florida Gators against the FSU Seminoles.
Florida State was seen as the front-runners in the recruitment of four-star linebacker Tavion Wallace (Jusup, Ga.) going into his official visit with the Florida Gators. Now, there is a tie between the Seminoles and the Gators.

It is comparable to 1A, 1B. After his visit, Wallace told Gators Illustrated, “They’ve both shown me a lot of love in my recruitment.” “Love unites the two schools.”

Wallace omitted identifying the 1A or 1B school.

He claimed that “they’re both vying for that top spot right now.”

It is not just significant that Florida is catching up to its in-state opponents in Wallace’s recruiting, but that he is a top-10 linebacker prospect. It’s the reality that Florida wasn’t initially considered a serious possibility for Wallace.

His visit was so successful that it cemented the Gators’ place in the running.

I wasn’t comfortable with that at first, but it showed a lot of how much they wanted me. I had no idea what they were asking for,” Wallace said. But now that I’m more informed, I can see things like how they’re pressuring me and demonstrating their love and concern for me. not only as a participant but also as a whole person.

Not to add, as the end approaches, Wallace’s hiring is becoming less and less. After spending this next weekend at FSU, he intends to commit on July 2. Following Florida and Florida State in the race are Georgia and Arkansas.

“I’ve got a week after the Florida State visit next week. So, I’m going to take that week to take everything in. The pros. The cons of all the visits I took,” he explained.

Wallace said he’ll specifically consider family, consistency and the bonds he’s formed with the organization.

“(Florida) did really good. Last time I came in, it was all love. This time, they just showed way more love,” Wallace said.

“Being a Florida fan growing up, coming here has been a dream,” he remarked. Observing everything—including the stadium and everything else. I only saw the periphery of it when I was growing up. Although I was never able to look within, doing so greatly increased it.

According to Gators Illustrated, Wallace is now the first linebacker target for Florida to declare his commitment. In addition to covering a void, Wallace’s promise may be the first of many Gator recruiting victories as the 2024 campaign draws near.
